One of the most anticipated new models to be released is the BMW M5 concept. This is due to be fully released at the Shanghai motor show which takes place between 21st to the 28th April 2011.

However as with most top secret projects there is always a leak of information to get the world interested. The motor will house a huge 4.4 litre engine which is a huge capacity for this new model. The engine has a twin turbo V8 which is actually smaller than the current model which is on the market.
Many will be shocked that the top manufacturer backed out of the chance to put a V10 in their new model. However they have made a very savvy political move, by reducing the engine to a twin turbo V8 they get a better mile per gallon ration and the emissions are much lower. They can then push their green credentials and potential customers will not be put off by the pollution and bank account costs.
Whilst BMW have used the V8 and many will say that its smaller than the current model BMW have managed to squeeze a much better performance out of the new model. The new numbers show that the M5 produces 552bhp which is 42bhp more than the current model.
The new model is expected to have a price tag in the range of 70-75,000 which will interest many executive types. A price tag in this range throws it right into the mix with Mercedes and Audis top models which will make for interesting reading. The BMW hits 62mph in around 4.5 seconds which is fantastic. It has a top speed of 155mph which will initially be limited by the manufacturer.
The V8 is expected to hit a 25% improved fuel economy over the current model which will even be a huge impact to the wealthy drivers in the BMW M5 class. The V8 does not take the whole credit for this economy, the vehicle also comes with stop start technology and brake regeneration.
It goes without saying that the new model is a real looker. It comes with all the classic BMW panache and has an air of elegance for such a big machine. It has the new BMW curves which make the top class model look amazing.
