You need to know what you want before you can start writing down your goals. Spend some time alone. Play with your imagination. Imagine where you want to be 5 years from now. What are you doing? How does it feel? Write down the benefits of your goals. These are great motivator for keeping you focus Ask yourself, 'How will I know when I've met my goal? How will I know when I'm off-track?' and write down your answers. Sometimes the initial goal definition can be hazy. It a general statement. That is perfectly all right. That is your starting point. The shortest way to reach from point A to point B is a straight line. But wait, What if there a wall in between. The easiest way is to go around it.
