After completing your registered nurse training course, you will be required to take an exam called NCLEX-RN. This exam is conducted by various nursing associations all over the country. The nursing certification is not a must to work as a registered nurse and there are several registered nurses who do not have this certification but it is very important to get your certification because now days, employers only hire certified nursing staff. Registered nurses work for five shifts every week with each shift of 8 hours. They might also have to work on weekends, holidays and in overnight shifts.
