Number one MLB pick Harper could team with Strasburg for battery of the future

The Washington Nationals selected catching wunderkind Bryce Harper with the first pick of the 2010 draft Monday, creating fantasies of the Las Vegas native, who hit a 576-foot home run when he was just a freshman in high school, team with 2009 top pick Stephen Strasburg in the not so distant future.(dell latitude d820 laptop battery)

Harper was the youngest number one pick in MLB draft history after opting to leave high school after his sophomore year to spend a season at a junior college, playing with the College of Southern Nevada.(Dell xps m1530 battery)

All he did in a season there was rack up an other worldly 1.510 OPS with 29 home runs, 89 RBIs and 18 stolen bases. Yeah, he seems ready to face a little stiffer competition, and he proved it during a 2009 home run derby in Tampa Bay's Tropicana Field where he did something no Major Leaguer has even done, hitting the back wall of the dome with a titanic 500-plus foot bomb.(Toshiba pa3356u-1bas battery)

There are still some questions about his attitude, but the kid was compared to LeBron James in his Sports Illustrated cover story at the age of 17. That kind of press would go to most players' heads when they should be making summer plans before heading into their senior years of high school.

Nationals fans can cope with a couple of speed bumps if it means they'll be watching their hyped up battery star amongst the cherry trees for years to come.
