Time Delay
How many times have you sent a text message only to be left waiting staring at your phone willing them to reply. Personally I've spent dozens if not hundreds but this is all part of the game. Texting back straight away can seem desperate and sending a text message ten minutes after the first one is a big no. Finding a common interest
Okay now once you start texting its important to find a common interest you can both relate to no one wants to talk about the weather for two hours. Conversations going stale are perhaps my greatest fear when it comes to texting and its definitely a make or break point. Even if you don't have a common interest keep asking about theirs if nothing else they will think you are a good listener. Seeing as your not replying straight away (time delay) you can really think about the content of your messages try to be funny and interesting.
Language
Now its important to focus on the language of the text message its important to throw in some compliments. If you are interested in another person then your text message shouldn't sound like something your writing to your brother or sister.Keep it light throw in a smiley face or two. Introducing a little sexual tension to a conversation is necessary to indicate interest although Its important not to go too far just enough to stay out of the dreaded friend zone.
