Good morning WORLD! early, early morning here in Ottawa, Ontario Canada!
I just had to get up and write about some of the very many fabulous tips and ideas that are
going through my head after reading Gary Vaynerchuks book "Crush It"
Pretty neat and oh so different type of book! it was awesome and fun to read.
Basically tells you to take something that you're absolutely, totally and completely passionate about and make it your career.
Who says someone out there isn't interested in what you love to do? Can you make it authentic, informative, fun and yet real? do you have enough experience in it to help others understand and learn from your interactions and dealings with what you are passionate about? Are true to yourself in this passion and just KNOW that you can help others out there like you?
Go ahead then, find out how and just do it already!
Many of you already know that my passions are many but the one that is dearest to my heart, is helping women (and any man that wants help too) that are 30+ years old, overweight but not clinically obese, lose and keep their weight off. To that end, I am constantly reasearching this subject for my ladies out there, so they do not have to. I even try some products that seem to be "Magical" in getting that fat off your hips or belly or wherever yours is (mine is on the back and belly)!
If you have read some of my blogs, you will know that I recently bought into one that toted that HCG was just the next best thing to being pregnant 'cause Man, that HCG just tells the old hypothalamus to eat the fat right off you....yup! and my name is Dumbo...if you want to learn more about it, see some of my former blogs.
I DO have really fabulous news to share with you today: Maple Syrup is GOOD for you!
Now that is great relief to millions of people in Eastern Ontario and Quebec as well as a few parts of the north eastern USA as we are smack tab in the middle of maple syrup season here.
This year has been a fabulous one for production and most of the maple syrup producers are working their butts off to get it out to you.
Here are some stats you may like to know about maple syrup, they may well ease your mind when you pour it on those pancakes, eggs, ham or what ever else you use it on. However, remember this one rule: as with EVERYTHING in life, moderation is key...
ok so here are some good things to know:
1/4 cup (60ml) serving of pure maple syrup has about the same antioxidant content as an orange, with fewer calories than honey. It contains zinc, calcium and is high in manganese, which studies have shown can help form connective tissue, strengthen bones and encourage calcium absorption. It is SO good in so many ways that you won't be able to keep it bottled up!
Here is a great recipe you can start with for the summer season and those wonderful salads that come with it:
Maple Vinaigrette: In a bowl, whisk together 2 tbsp (30ml) of 100% pure maple syrup, 1.5 tsp (7ml) or cider vinegar, 1 tsp (5ml) or Dijon prepared mustard, 1/8 tsp (.5ml) pepper. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup (60ml) of canola oil (olive oil overpowers the taste of the maple syrup) until smooth. toss with baby spinach mixed with other greens, grape tomatoes, black olives, pits of unripened goat cheese and what ever else you love in your salads.
Enjoy.
