Moab visitors may use the Grand County High School tennis courts situated behind the City Market grocery store on Main Street. There are six courts side by side with adequate parking. The tennis courts are an easy walk from Red Stone Inn, Big Horn Lodge, the Gonzo Inn, Ramada Inn, Best Western Greenwell, Rustic Inn, Cali Cochitta Bed and Breakfast and the Rustic Inn. At the time of this article, Walker Drug and ALCO stores had tennis racquets and balls for sale. On occasion, used racquets will be for sale at Memory Lane or Wabi Sabi second hand stores. Or since this article has landed in your consciousness, plan ahead and bring your own sports equipment.
Playing tennis under sandstone walls comes with your Red Cliffs Lodge sleeping room, cabin or conference room rental. Ask the clerks at the front desk to borrow tennis balls and racquets. In addition, Rim Village condos has tennis courts, however, guests must anticipate playing, bring your own tennis equipment. You might get lucky and find a racquet hanging in the garage or a closet at your condo. You simply cannot count on it.
Add a tournament to your family reunion or conference. Bring your tennis club to Moab for a change of scenery. The Grand County High School courts can be acquired with a contract from the district office. Plan to arrange for potable water, grand stands and portable toilets rentals in conjunction with your group use of the courts.
