Shall Google find us a dwelling? Be a doubting Thomas, check sites and pictures and then go and see for yourself

We are part of the Google's generation, or at least we are the ones that take their first step towards the search for a house on the Internet.

Mom and Dad are definitely happy we are heading our own way, flying out of the cozy nest even when they have to pay for our board and lodge. They should not worry: we are not big eaters, we are university students, we snack all day long but seldom have a real meal, basically we are broken all the time. Still, we need a place to sleep and our parents know it too well, some of us love sleeping in, indeed, especially when they have classes in the afternoon; this means the bed must not be a couch nor must it be located too close to the kitchen where housemates will have lunch while we are still on our pajamas.

Since we definitely need a bed to sleep in or at least on, we get ready for our first encounter with a real real estate agency . No wonder it takes place on Google Index. Virtual real estate agency! Each such agency wants to be in spotlight because that means more opportunity to sell. Google sells, no wonder. So if we search for "houses for rent" on our browser it will seem there are more sellers than buyers.

In the specific case of houses there still need to be real and not virtual real estate sellers. No E-bay for our sweet sweet home, yet.

Let's take into consideration our profile, though: we are penniless students who won't afford to rent a whole apartment plus real estate agency fee. We better rent a single bed in a double room to share with some other student like us. It's not the hard way, though as we have fun sharing our knowledge of quick cooking and quick cleaning methods with our housemates.

The more you search for a house the more you stick to the idea there is no perfect house. Sometimes you might not find it out till you settle down. Leaking WC, noisy neighbors or, on the opposite, neighbors whining about your noise, house owners holding the key of your apartment and checking the house without permission, no pets allowed in the block and you were not told and now your heart is broken as you have already signed the contract and know you will have to separate from your beloved one to be continued by you according to your own experience.

Still, good unexpectedness happens as well. Falling in love with a neighbor, free Internet without password, elderly house owner that just adores you as you exactly look like one of her favorite grandchildren and therefore always pays and repairs all the broken items in the house even when it should be due to you.

However we would definitely like to know what way we should go when we get lost in the maze of houses on rent. A first tip is to pay attention to the contract. Why bother having a contract? Do we actually need one? Yes, we do. Won't we save money if we do without it? If you are among the ones posing this question you should know that whether you are a dependent child or not you can have taxes reduction if you have a regular student contract. What you spend today you will save tomorrow and you will put house owners in the condition to do what they are due to, that is to pay taxes as we all do.
