Windows 7, is what Microsoft wanted Vista to be, reliable, efficient and user friendly. It's a lot quicker to load, quicker to run and easier to use. This operating system compared to Vista is more compatible to other forms of hardware such as: scanners, and printers. It also has added bonus that the other versions of Windows don't have.
The actual installation only takes about an hour to complete. When transferring over other files it can be a bit time consuming as with all other operator system. However it still was easier to identify with what it was doing, as the process was clear on the screen. You could see it wasn't going to stop half way through.
This system will also be able to run on a different range of machines, as it wasn't always easy for Vista. This version also seems to boot up a lot quicker than Vista, and connect to the WI-FI easier and faster. Looking for files and documentations will be easier and the results would be delivered a lot quicker. It would also be grouped in a way to make helpful categories, to make it less complicated to find something.
Homegroup's is a new welcome addition to Windows 7, which helps with inputting and looking at information. This means that you can put together a number of things in a group. Such as, MP3 to other computers once you join to the network, it will be the same thing as what you saw previously. Music, films are available more instantly. The Windows Media Player also had a major upgrade and supports a new range of formats, than ever before.
The biggest improvement from Vista to Windows 7 was the desktop.The view of the icons are a lot larger, but are not in your face or off putting. The icons that were set in the side bar are separated out, making it a more efficient use of the desktop. A new function Aero Peek, puts all of the windows and folders translucent on your desktop to let the user see what they are working on, and move to the document or program that you need to use. Jump Lists makes it easier to access the music, websites, and pictures that you use everyday. If you "pin" an item like music or a video, to Jump List it will mark it for you. You could also even use it to get common shortcuts, for example using or writing a new email or starting new Word document.
Windows 7 will bring some joy to users who have had to deal with Vista as their upgrade from XP. The system as a whole is well designed, a lot more efficient and reliable than Vista ever was. The new addition of Homegroup is a big introduction to Windows in the file sharing between other computers. The desktop changes makes the interface a lot more user friendly. Which makes the new welcome changes from Microsoft, a sigh of relief, for PC users.
