4 Tips To Help You Find That Elusive G-Spot

Dr. Ernst Grafenberg (the doctor, after whom the g-spot is named) described finding the surprisingly sensitive spot in 1950, inside the vagina, near the urethra. He made everything seem so foolproof. A medical article has detailed his demonstrations of the existence of what they call the "distinct erotogenic zone" and the obvious consequences of stimulating this zone in his own patients. Surely anyone with a vagina could do the same on her own. Perhaps it was that simple for him. However, very few women outside of his examining room were able to find the place he referred to. Because of this, it was given the title of the g-spot myth.

At one time there was very little proof or research behind it. The g-spot is now considered to be an actual part of the female anatomy. This is due largely to recent advances in technology and science. Modern scientific studies are continually finding new and innovative ways to prove that the g-spot is real.

Over the years studies have proven that the g-spot does indeed exist. However, does every woman have this g-spot? This question has been asked since 1950 when it was first reported.

A team of Italian researchers did a detailed study of the pelvic region on 14 women in 2002. In this study only 12 of these women possessed erectile tissue (the nerve-infused sensitive stuff that makes up a clitoris and a penis) along the inner wall of the vagina. This is where the g-spot is said to exist. The skene glands, which are made up of tissue that would become the prostate gland if the female embryo had turned out to be a male, was only found in nine of the 12 women.

Do you have this elusive g-spot? An article published in The Journal of Urology, hinted that only some women have them. How many women, however, is still unknown. The study was not large enough to say for sure.

Experimenting may be the only way to find out for sure if you do indeed have a g-spot. Different techniques can be tried to locate that mysterious hidden place.

First: Start by learning where the g-spot is said to be. Experts have advised women to explore the area about one to two inches along the front vaginal wall (the side closest to the belly). This area is described as "an erotic zone". It is located on the anterior wall of the vagina along the course of the urethra. It will swell during sexual stimulation. Before you begin stimulation of the g-spot, be sure you're fully aroused. Trying to stimulate the g-spot with little or no foreplay can cause discomfort. It pays to be fully aroused before stimulating the g-spot.

Second: Find a position that is comfortable and try to relax. Whether you're lying on your back in bed or in some other position, it helps a lot if you relax and find the position that is right for g-spot stimulation.

Third: Be sure to have plenty of lubrication. You may also want to try stimulating the clitoris before going for the g-spot. After you feel yourself getting wet, add lubrication as needed and use either your finger or a special sex toy to hit the g-spot. Remember, it is located about one to two inches up your vaginal wall. Once you are inside, make a come hither motion with your finger until you feel a spot that is similar in texture to the roof of your mouth.

Fourth: The g-spot needs a direct and rhythmic stimulation unlike the clitoris which only needs light strokes. Try tapping with your finger once you hit the g-spot. Experiment with the speed and rhythm until you find the right combination that will bring you the most pleasure. Keep the motion up until you reach a g-spot orgasm.

Besides using your fingers when stimulating the g-spot, you can use a specialized sex toy which is specifically meant for g-spot stimulation. When using a sex toy to stimulate your g-spot, be sure to use plenty of lubrication and be sure to clean your sex toys after each use.

After learning how to find your g-spot for yourself, you can use the knowledge you have gained about g-spot stimulation and the technique you like so when you have sex with a partner you can have a more intense g-spot orgasm. Unlike in the 50's, when the g-spot was discovered, there are now thousands of sex toys available to aid in g-spot stimulation.

Choosing the right toy can be a bit overwhelming due to the large selection out there. Rabbit vibrators are designed specifically with g-spot stimulation in mind as well as clitoral stimulation. I suggest you search with your partner for the one that best suits you. The search alone can almost be foreplay.
