The Different Paths For Fast Leveling in Warcraft

In my last article, I discussed some subjects to help reduce the leveling time it would take to get to 80. Those subjects were:

1) Talent Spec

2) Quests

3) Gear

Now, I am going to discuss the different paths for leveling to 80. As of 3.2, there are 3 different ways to go about leveling in Warcraft. They are:

1) Solo Questing

2) Battlegrounds (BGs)

3) Random Dungeon Finder (RDF)

The slowest one will always be Battlegrounds. The experienced gained per round will never compare to the other 2 paths in leveling speed. The benefit of leveling though battlegrounds is they are fun to play. The sheer randomness of each round makes for a more intense Warcraft experience. And, as with the other 2 paths, you can always mix it in with RDF or questing (Although, not at the same time. You can only queue up for either the RDF or BGs, not both.).

If you decide on Healer or Tank, the fastest option will most likely be RDF. Questing will be slower as you will not be doing enough DPS to quickly run through the quests. Also, entering a dungeon through RDF is almost instant after queuing up as a Tank or Healer. You will be able to run them back-to-back and really hasten your leveling speed compared to Solo Questing.

Solo Questing will be the fastest path for leveling as DPS. As DPS you will be able to kill mobs fast enough to make questing fast and easy. You can combine RDF or BGs with Solo Questing, but this may slow down things a bit. Although, the gear you might get from RDF can contribute to much faster questing.

About Online Quest Guides

The easiest way to level through questing is to check out a guide on which quests to get and what order to do them in. There are a bunch of free guides out there, but they involve too much tabbing out of Warcraft to see the next few steps. Then there are the paid guides. I have purchased many of the guides available (Zygor's, Joanna's, Dugi's, etc.) I can honestly say that Dugi's and Zygor's Guides are, by far, the best. They provide an in-game addon that is easy to use, show step-by-step leveling, and also have very minimal screen resources (Just an arrow pointing towards the next step and the title of the next quest to do, turn in, or complete).
