As lingerie lovers we all have an appreciation for fashion and especially lingerie. We believe that every woman has the right to feel sexy about themselves and look hot in gorgeous lingerie. Nowadays we are very lucky that sexy lingerie is available to buy and we can afford it, but this wasn't always the case. In the last 20 years lingerie worn as outerwear has been accepted by society if worn by famous celebrities, pop stars and models. Lady Gaga is probably the most outrageous and flamboyant star of today, she is fashion forward, unique and inspiring to many fans and dedicated fashion followers. Although we might not always like the crazy outfits and press statements that Gaga sports, we do owe it to her for using lingerie in everyday fashion. She is so gaga about lingerie she reportedly spent a whopping $7000 dollars on lingerie, every precious piece of underwear had to be made from 100% silk and nothing else! Polyester, viscose and various other synthetic fabrics are completely out of the question we feel for her poor assistant! So Lady Gaga is one of our lingerie greats thanks to her amazing music videos we hope to see many more quirky designs in the future.
Beyonce is another celeb famous for sporting lingerie on stage and in her music videos. Her single ladies video caused a huge trend of bring back the 80's style leotard into everyday fashion, and had girls all over the nation sporting the single ladies look. Beyonce also famously caused a bit of a lingerie scandal back in 2009 when she performed in Berlin wearing a strapless red teddy and red suspenders. Beyonce had to fight off allegations that she had stolen the sexy lingerie design from award winning Bulgarian lingerie designer Iskren Lazarov. It caused a stir but everybody still loved seeing Beyonce in the red hot lingerie set.
Madonna made lingerie as outerwear in the 1990's an ultimate fashion iconic history piece. She teamed up with Jean Paul Gaultier and they were to create one of the biggest fashion statements of the 20th century. The famous cone bra' will always be an iconic memory of Madonna on the Blond Ambition tour. On the topic of Gaultier's cone bras and bustiers, one has to mention his long term professional relationship with Madonna. It was his iconic pink satin cone-shaped bustier that Madonna wore during her Blond Ambition tour of 1990, and which started a real fad in the early nineties for underwear as outerwear. Not only did Gaultier design bras and bustiers for the Material Girl herself, he also toyed with traditional gender roles in creating black velvet cone bras for her male backup dancers.
