Panasonic TC-P42X3 Viera 42 Plasma HDTV Review

Panasonic says theirTC-P42X3 Viera 42 Plasma HDTV is "ideal for watching action-packed sports, shows, and movies". But it is only a mid-range TV is this TV that good of a value?

Overall Thoughts & Points From Misc. Customer Reviews:

Panasonic uses their 600Hz Sub-field Drive to improve viewing on the TC-P42X3. Was this does is take each of the 60 frames shown each second and breaks them down into 10 "sub-fields" each. This ends up resulting in each frame being displayed for a fraction of the time it normally is. This result is a "smooth" and more fluid picture, and less of an effect due to "afterimages".

This Viera 42 HDTV is equiped with Viera Tools. This function allows you to understand many of the features of this TV by simply pressing a button on your Viera remote (which also activates the function immediately). The TC-P42X3 is DLNA/Wi-Fi compatabile, so you can stream media to anywhere in your home that's connected on the network.

You'll also get access to Easy IPTV, which lets you utilize a number of online services directly from your TV including Netflix, Pandora, Facebook, and more.

If you have an HD camera, you can view all your full-HD photos and videos with Viera Image Viewer just insert your SD card into the SD port on the TV.

Customer reviews on Panasonic's website, Amazon.com, and Best Buy.com were very respectable most of them were 4 out of 5 or higher.

Many customers thought the TV looked very good, and provided excellent imagery. They were generally very pleased with viewing, and some even felt this plasma looked better than LCDs they'd had in the past. Some were concerned that picture quality might be as good as some of the competition, given that this is only a 720p (not 1080p) television, but most found their concerns not to be an issue, as the TV looked great.

Some customers did have a little trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, and found the DNLA to be a little glitchy at times. This was sometimes due to a poor internet/connection or modem. Other times, it was just that the TV had a hard time connecting to the server (when compared to a laptop or smartphone on the same server). Others experienced no problem whatsoever.

All in all, the vast majority of customers found this to be a great TV for the money a very good value for a model in the mid-range of prices.

The Panasonic TC-P42X3 Viera 42 Plasma HDTV comes with the TV itself, removable stand, Viera remote (including batteries) and assorted paperwork/instructions.
