Quiet and artistic Le Cafe D'Art
Quiet and artistic Le Cafe D'Art

What you see - Le Caf D'Art is a warm and softly lit restaurant in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Located in the same building as Fusion 9, it is situated right near the traffic lights opposite City Centre. In spite of being in this busy area, the door tends to cut down the deafening roar of the traffic. The dcor is soothing with walls covered by some really attractive paintings from upcoming artists. You can choose to sit on straight ornamental wooden chairs or soft comfortable couches.

What you get - The Continental food coffee shop is built like a home and is a maze of rooms. If a private conversation is on your mind then make yourselves cozy on a couch and if you want to catch some cricket or football, you should perch yourself in the middle room where you have a screen playing games or sports highlights. The chandeliers and ornamental furniture give the caf a very exotic look.

One of the pulls here is the hookah. It is one of the lesser known hookah places around this area. The Coffee on the Rock section is for all the coffee lovers. The drinks are decently priced with something like a Cappuccino starting as low as Rs. 35. There is an assortment of tea to try out from, which include the Assam tea, the Earl Grey Tea and the Masala Tea. The mocktails here are said to be decent though we did not try out any and stuck to the caf treats'. We tried one of the ice cream sundaes priced at Rs. 105; the Berry Blast made our day with its fruity cool taste.

Snacking time called for some Kung Pao Cauliflower; tasty and crisp. The non-vegetarians will love the Fish fingers here and also the Pepper Chili Chicken. The Spring Salad is a refreshing treat and the sandwiches were good though they seemed overpriced. Some non-vegetarian specialties which are often raved about here are the Marinated Chicken Breast and Penne Lamb. We also tried Fresh fruit truffle in the dessert section and were pleasantly surprised.

Our verdict - Le Caf D'Art is a nice place to spend some time, reading a book or hanging out with someone special. It is not exactly a place to hang out with friends; it lacks the buzz of a youth hangout. The drinks are favorably priced but we found the snacks a little overpriced. The hookah is not exactly a hit but it's worth a try for those who love the act. The best aspect of this place is the dcor which is worth admiring. For all of those who love a cozy, quiet caf hangout; this would be the place for you. The music is not great but is far better than the normal coffee shops. Service is quick but could be more pleasant.

There is ample parking space available.
