It is a fact that both humans and dogs have the same symptom experience when they are infected with diarrhea. This unhealthy condition is very uncomfortable and if it is not treated it might lead to serious or worse condition.

Dog diarrhea is characterized by frequent bowel movements and abnormal stools that may be softer than usual and may be light or oddly colored. In the occurrence of dog diarrhea infection there are steps that you may take to prevent your dog from diarrhea infection.

De-wormer : As a preventive measure against diarrhea infection always de-worm your dog monthly. The fact is that parasitic infections such as roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms are known to be responsible for causing diarrhea infection most especially when the dogs are still very young, therefore, cultivate the habit of de-worming your dog every month.

Contaminated Water : It is of utmost importance that you monitor your dog to prevent him from contaminated water. The presence of protozoan organisms like Giardia which sometimes live in contaminated water can cause diarrhea in your dog. Ensure that any exposed water or water container in your environment should be emptied. Take steps in preventing your dog from drinking water out of puddles along streets while taking a walk with your dog. In fact, no matter how the water appeared to be neat or clean do not allow your dog to drink because it might be contaminated.

Unconsumed Food : Don't give unconsumed food that you may have suspected to have gone bad to your dog. Keep such food from the reach of your dog as it could cause diarrhea infection.

Trash and Table Scraps : Dogs has the tendency of going to the trash in the night to look for what to eat and thereby consuming things that would result to diarrhea infection. In avoidance of this situation keep your trash always covered and guarded from the reach of your dog. Do not give table scraps to your dog because they sometimes cause indigestion which might result to diarrhea infection.

It may be nearly impossible to watch your dog 24 hours of the day but if you do your due diligence in implementing these measures you would have gone a long way in preventing your dog from diarrhea infection and it would save you the bills you would have paid your vet for treatment.
