Investing Vs Gambling
Investing Vs Gambling

I've got quite a simple way of splitting out a gamble from an investment. Investing makes money in the long run. Gambling loses money over the long term.''- Bengt Saelensminde For The Right Side/Moneyweek.

I guess the above statement from writer, and investor, Bengt Saelensminde really sums it all up in a nutshell. I may very well include further opinions, and comments from other savvy, and street-wise investors in further upcoming issues.

In the meantime, I would like to further aquaint you with a further insight into the world of professional gambling, in order to cultivate the 'winner's mindset'.

Investing, gambling, and even life all involve risk-management, and speculation at almost every corner, and turn in our daily lives; for example, whilst on your way to work this morning, did you not negotiate, and navigate a whole host of decisions that involved a degree of risk-however slight-whether you drove your car, walked, (which involved crossing roads),commuted, or cycled your way there, you had inherently speculated a degree of risk on your course.

Whether we like it, or not, life is all about risk-management. And if we are better able to comprehend this, then we too can manage all aspects of our lives; of course this doesn't just have to be limited to our betting activities.

This could also be extended to people, and relationships, (even marriage!), yet we constantly place our trust in people's hands, which over time will tell if our decision-making processes were of sound judgment.

I believe that the above analogy has an element of truth, and correlation as to where our betting activities are concerned.

Professional Gambling, or investing, calls for a cold, unemotional, and almost mechanical approach to making profitable selections.

Complemented with razor-sharp discipline, and unyielding patience, the rewards really are there for the taking-but this message does come with a caveat; the awaiting riches, are like anything else in life, to be had, but the course to success involves developing a unique betting personality, which involves time to create, which separate the mug-punters' from the true consummate professionals.

Remember; 'Winning is 90% in the mind, and 10% through action'.
