Anna hazare's fast, the lokpal bill, corruption in india and remedies

anna hazare, the great social activist of the country has spearheaded the national campaign against corruption in india.he has decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike until the jan lokpal bill is passed by the government of india.his campaign has reached far and wide and made every indian cognizant of their rights.

all of us have had various experiences with corruption that we face each day in our day to day lives.in schools, colleges, hospitals, railways, roadways, police stations and others.thus, the recent uproar among the people hasn't come as a surprise.

hence, anna hazare has made a commendable move by not bowing down to the government.he has shown the way,now it is on us-the youth of this country to take this movement forward and not rest until we achieve it completely.the government's stubborn attitude demonstrates that it is nervous at the prospect of a fully-empowered committee free from the clutches of influential politicians and bureaucrats.mr. hazare and his supporters have rightly shown the door to politicians like uma bharti and o.p chautala who came in his support only to fulfill their selfish motives.

actually, the problem lies in the thought ingrained in each of us from the grassroot level which allows us to see the politicians as our masters and not the sevants of the people-as the should be in a democracy.till now, this approach allowed us to passively ignore the disheartening situation of corruption in the country until it became too much.mr. anna hazare has brought to the front-fore the fierce anger raging in each of the mindful indians within them.it is evident from the reaction of the masses-the common people including the youth and geriatric that this fight is capable of dislodging the government from its roots if proper remedies are not taken.

apart from the jan lokpal bill,i strongly suggest the enactment of a bill which lets every indian tax-payer to have a detailed report of how, where and when his tax-money is being spent.this would be a great step towards the eradication of corruption from its roots.

it would be a shame if we-the youth of india on whose shoulders the responsibility of realising mr. a.p.j abdul kalam's dream of turning india into a developed nation till 2020 rests don't join in the movement.now'it is on us to spread the fire of protest against corruption ignited by mr. hazare and not rest until we could call ourselves residents of a corruption free country.
