Improve Body Posture With Chiropractic

Chiropractic aims to heal individuals with the use of manual therapies on different parts of our body especially on the spine and extremities. Theories stated that they affect general body function simply by locating and correcting subluxations of the spine. Subluxations mean treating the spinal with adjustments to improve body posture and joint mobility. In modern world, the focus of Chiropractic therapy is to alleviate subluxations to improve the health of the general public. Founded by Daniel David Palmer in 1895, and started to practice chiropractic therapy in the rural areas of USA. Before, they believed that it is a treatment for deafness. Due to further research, he proposed a theory stating a misaligned spine causes impairment to the natural flow of healing power (later called "Innate Intelligence) from mind to body. Today it is widely practiced by most individual as treatment for various types of back pain, headaches, sports injuries, repetitive strain and improving most health related conditions. There are still health science organizations that has not accepted Chiropractic as treatment not only because on lack of clinical evidence but because health science does not accept the concept of subluxation or innate intelligence.Assessment using chiropractic methods, laboratory tests and sometimes perform X-ray, MRI and CT scan helps to evaluate medical conditions. During examination, the chiropractor (a person who practiced chiropractic methods) palpates the spine to feel the contour of deep muscles such as the multifidus and erector spinae muscles which is located between the vertebrae. Upon palpation, when patient identifies same spot as causing him pain or problems, then the chiropractor adjust to prevent or alleviate present symptoms.Four main focus of this therapy includes (1) alleviating pain and symptoms. Although it would not be pain free treatment but chiropractic practices drug-free spine therapy. It is a natural short term form of pain relief. (2) Bone alignment-improving range of motion of an individual by focusing on proper posture, correct alignment, degenerative effects of misalignment, biomechanics, disc, curve restoration and effect of misalignment. (3) Nerve approach- our nervous system is part of this therapy. Life stresses and the effects of brain losing touch with our body. The body/brain communications is important in this therapy.(4) Lifestyle- the quality of our lives. Our clinical mindset may feel uncomfortable, but the importance takes on creativity, compassion and minimization of what you are thinking. Most problems had been encountered by chiropractic practitioners because it requires energy to start a plateaued practice. A great personality and experience is a requirement to be an effective therapist. Safety of individuals is also considered, manipulation of the spinal cord is contraindicated. Before a person undergoes in this therapy, some reviews should be conducted to prevent any harmful results. The cost effectiveness of chiropractic therapy maintenance is not known and potential cost saving is least comparable with other alternative medicine.
