How To Stay Focused: 3 Steps To Moving Forward And Producing Effectively

How To Stay Focused! This is by far definitely one of the ultimate hurdles people find themselves in when becoming an entrepreneur and employed for themselves. When changing from an employee mindset to an entrepreneur mindset, there are a lot of transitions that occur.

How to stay focused is one of the topmost struggles when making the switch. You're going from a situation where you are always told what to do in your job, to conditions where there's NO one telling you what to do. Just this individual fact alone divides the budding entrepreneurs into two distinctive groups. One group recognizes this fact and creates a layout of action and will become successful fast. The other group will work very intensively, yet they will sit in one place and spin their wheels, never getting the success they are gunning for. Why is this?

Mindset has a lot to do with how to stay focused everyday. Once you are enlightened that staying focused is an issue that you will have to face, coming up with a few strategies to help you move forward is very important to do.

Here are 3 steps on how to stay focused, move forward and producing effectively.

1. Create A Layout of Attack. When building a business, you must have a capable marketing outline. If you don't have customers listening and looking at your opportunity or product, you don't have an opportunity to succeed. So how are you going to get in front of people? If you're marketing online, it's very easy to get diverted and want to use the latest and greatest marketing maneuvers to get leads. However this is a trap that you don't want to fall into. Just because it's having success for someone else, doesn't mean it will work for you. Come up with a course of action and stick to it for at least 3 months. Most people will create a course of action, but after a few weeks of less than stellar results, they will move onto something else. You must give your game plan sufficient time to take effect.

2. Define What Pays You. Figure out truthfully what activities pay you in your business. If you want to know how to stay focused, attend the money trail. If you get paid when someone buys your product, then you need to get your product out in front of more people. If you get paid when someone joins your team, then you need to get in front of people and show them the opportunity. This isn't anything cutting-edge, but straying from these activities and working "behind the scenes" on your business is a very carefree way to feel like you're accomplishing a lot of work, but in reality... those activities don't pay you.

3. Write It Down. So simple, but so overlooked. One way to stay focused is it have your daily schedule written down on paper in half hour increments and have it stationed up on your wall. Just having this in front of you will help you stay focused. It's very easy to work and jump around on different activities, but this is what can get you into trouble. Write down your marketing game plan, and then write down carefully when you are going to complete the tasks needed to accomplish your course of action. The more specific, the better you'll stay on target with your goals. Once you have this finished, stay focused on being consistent with the behaviors you have written down.

I've coached a lot of business owners and the one thing a majority of people have big issues with, is how to stay focused on one activity at a time and stop skipping around using different strategies that may or may not work for them.

If you stop and take 10 minutes with no distractions and really think and write down the steps above, AND stay consistent with your schedule for 3 months, you won't believe the amount of productive time you will produce and the income that will come along with it! You will no longer be wondering how to stay focused, you'll be showing others how you do it!
