Installation Basics of your Home Theatre System

1. Plan how you will set up your system before moving any furniture or unpacking any equipment. Make sure you have an idea of where to place the system components.

2. Take note of cable and wall socket positions. This should be well thought out so as not to affect the entire house's electrical system. Suitable cabling should be used too.

3. Place the television set where it can be easily viewed by all. Make sure the screen is aligned to the viewer's eyes.

4. The speakers should be mounted first before attaching any wires.

5. Put the centre speaker above or just below the TV aligned to the front edge of the TV and the right and left speakers at the respective sides of the TV with approximately the same distance.

6. The surround speakers should be placed with similar distances but in a tilted position for best sound results.

7. If you chose to have one, the subwoofer should be placed at the side of the whole system. To increase the bass effect place it near a wall, to decrease it put it away from the wall.

8. Now you can start connecting the cables. Refer to the manual for accurate information. Most systems have diagrams to help you set it up.
