Lion-O, leader of the Thundercats
Designed to resemble a lion, this character is arguably the protagonist of the show, since most of the adventures revolve around him and his coming of age to become the lord of the Thundercats. He holds the Sword of Omens, which besides shooting energy bolts and getting "aroused" whem combat is eminent, it also provides him with some unique abilities such as the "sight beyond sight". He also uses the Claw Shield, which besides providing devensive capabilities also shoots grappling claws over a good distance.
In the beggining of the show, Lion-O is eseentially a clueless teenager who becomes trapped in an adult body while on course to Third Earth, since his suspension capsule doesn't work as it was supposed to. The result, he is a character who's notable by his good heart and willingness to become a great leader... but all the while his nature is remarkably infantile. Which actually makes sense, because despite his adult physical appearance, he is basically a teenager.
Cheetara, the team's hottie
Faster than a speeding bullet and cuter than a cat? We're talking about Cheetara, of course. A proud female warrior based on the cheetah, she is full of bravado as well as affection... not to mention she has a unique female sixth sense that allows her to tell when she or someone she cares about is in danger. Armed with her expandable staff and her blazing fast speeds, Cheetarah is a force to be recoked with out on the battle field.
Tygra, the guy with the whip
Modeled after the tiger and bearing a whip for a weapon, Tygra is also the team's intellectual. Both an architect and scientist, he conceived all the Thundercats structures which are seen through the show, including the Cat's Lair and the Tower of Omens. Besides being smart and cunning,he has the unique ability to use is mind power to creat realistic illusions in other people's minds
Panthro, like a human brickhouse
Based of a panther and using Nunchakus as weapons, Panthro is the team's mechanic, engineer and pilot... not to mention he's the older wise guy. He is strong and well-versed in martial arts; generally cheerful, Panthro is also known to get annoyed and angry rather quickly.
WillyKit and Willikat, the young ones
A set of fraternal twins, they are also the younger members of the thundercats... in fact, the other memebrs routinely call them "ThunderKittens". They are cheerful and provocative, and love messing around with the other members and pulling pranks. For weapons, they rely on smoke capsules and hoverboards.
Snarf, the comic relief pet
Not only is he the team's pet, Snarf is also the active voice of reason... kind of like a cat-like Jiminy Cricket. Sometimes annoyng, always endearing, he surely provides a nice complement to the team. He's the member that everyone loves hating.
