Week 2 Recap of Dancing with the Stars
Week 2 Recap of Dancing with the Stars

Week 2 of Dancing with the Stars is complete, and ten couples remain to dance again. Here's a brief recap of the performances of this past week.

Two dances were performed this week, either the Quickstep (Ballroom) or Jive (Latin). The couples that danced the Foxtrot in week 1 would dance the Jive, and the couples that did the Cha Cha in week 1 would do the Quickstep.

Kendra and Louis were the first couple of the night to dance the Quickstep. Len thought he saw improvement in Kendra's dancing but that her posture was hit or miss during the performance. They scored 19 points for their dance.

Chris and Cheryl also danced the Quickstep. What a difference from week 1 for the wrestling superstar. Bruno said the routine was sensational and he couldn't believe the performance Chris gave. They tied for first place for the night, scoring 23 points.

Kirstie and Maks danced a very crowd pleasing Quickstep routine. Kirstie mentioned she is concerned about her weight, but Bruno told her she didn't have to worry about her weight because she has talent. They took home 20 points for their dance.

Romeo and Chelsie danced a Quickstep to the song "You're the One that I Want" from the musical Grease. It was full of energy and fun. Carrie Ann said Romeo has great promise but needs to work on his posture. They also scored 23 points.

Wendy and Tony performed the Quickstep as well, but their performance lacked some of the energy found in the other performances. Len told her she was economical with the movements but the dance was better than last week. They tied for the lowest score of the night, getting a 17 for their performance.

Hines and Kym were the last couple to perform, and they closed out the show with a Quickstep that was charming and fun. Bruno told Hines he has an ease and confidence and great chemistry with Kym. They tied for the best score of the evening, earning 23 points.

Sugar Ray and Anna opened the show with a Jive. It was entertaining and charming but didn't go over the best with the judges. Carrie Ann said that while Sugar Ray is entertaining and likeable his movements in the lower part of his body were spastic. They tied for the bottom spot with 17 points.

Chelsea and Mark did a Jive that was progressive, innovative and creative. The audience loved it. The judges didn't care for it at all for the most part. Len and Carrie Ann thought it was a bad choice to do this kind of performance since they were looking for a more traditional Jive. Bruno said he appreciated the creativity and enjoyed the routine. They scored 18 points for their performance.

Petra and Dimitry did a Jive that was entertaining to watch. Carrie Ann and Bruno advised Petra to work on her core strength to help improve her dancing. They scored 18 points.

Mike and Lacey did a Jive that was an improvement from their week 1 performance. Len told him it was better than last week but not to get too excited because it wasn't that good. They tied for the lowest score of the evening with a 17.

Ralph and Karina danced the last Jive of the evening. It was pleasing to watch but the judges thought it was a step backwards from his week 1 performance. Carrie Ann said he dances well but his movements need to be much sharper. They scored 21 points.

Week 2 Elimination from Dancing with the Stars

Mike Catherwood was the first celebrity to be eliminated from Season 12 of Dancing with the Stars. He now joins an elite, if not infamous, list of celebrities that includes Kenny Mayne, Tucker Carlson and David Hasselhoff.
