Ever tought of running a webhosting business?
Well, i'm sure if you reached this page this tought had come many times in your head!
First of all, before taking any other step you must consider your technical experience, your budget and your marketing abilities.
I would also reccomend writing down on a flipchart, being very honest to yourself, which are your abilities, what you consider you'll be able to do by yourself and what needs to be done by freelancers/team-mates/friends.
Technically speaking, if you never done this before it's a great idea to experience and get to know the softwares widely used in industry, like WHM/CPanel. All kind of demos are available so you can play around, until you know exactly which option is where.
Next thing to do is find a good host, that can provide a stable Reseller or Master Reseller account. It's very reccomended also that you try some for a period of time before deciding which one you should choose ( succes depends about 70% at least on reliability of the services you provide).
Step No 1 - Choose THE HOST

Step No 2 - Play Around
After deciding on your host you must 'Play Around'! What that means? Talk to your friends, spread the news, make some demo account to simulate what would be like 'in the real world' regarding availability and stability of your server.
It's always a good idea to generate an image for your company, a nice logo and some banners.
Step No 3 - Configure configure configure
Now this is one of the tricky parts if you're not quite used with WHM/Cpanel/WHMCS/HTML/CSS.
You generally have to read a lot if you want to do it by yourself, but if you preffer the easy way you can find 1 or 2 freelancers, with experience in webdesign and WHMCS integration. You can also always cry for help HERE if you us to help you with something about this!
By the way WHMCS is the billing and automation application, the one that after is well configured, will do almost all the job for you!
Step No 4 - SEO/Marketing/Advertising
Right from the start of designing and writing some code to your website it would be a good idea to discuss or collaborate with a SEO specialist; i assure you that this step will make your life much easier later on.
Folowing this advice, could also lead to spending less money, than you actually think you would if you try to advertise and make your own business/advertising strategy. We weren't so great at this point ourselves so we preffered the specialists also.
Step No 5 - The nasty part...PATIENCE and PERSEVERENCE!
You went so far by now and everything seem to be nice, good-looking and ready to full throttle from pole position!
Well...unfortunately in this very saturated business, you'll be going from one of the latest position of the grid, so have a lot of PATIENCE and drive yourself with PERSEVERENCE on your way to SUCCESS!
