Can You Really Lose Weight With Only a Few Minutes a Day of Exercise

I have been asked by many people if someone can really lose weight with only a few minutes a day of exercise. The answer is yes but keep in mind three thing .

Consistency - The key to being successful at anything really comes down to practice and doing things again and again. With baseball coming up let me use that as an analogy. If a hitter wants to be good, he takes batting practice. When he is in a slump he takes extra batting practice. The same thing applies to exercise and weightloss. You need to be consistent. I have heard varying opinions as to how to do this. Anything from exercise every other day, to working out every day but making sure to change the workout program.. Do cardio one day and weights another. All these ideas are good ideas and can work. However the key is this, whichever one you decide to do, make sure you do it often and be consistent.

Make it fun- If something becomes mundane and routine then you are more likely to not do it. If however you throw some fun in there, well then not only will you do it more often and consistently, you are actually going to look forward to doing your routine. If you look at many of those infomercials that are popular, what is the common denominator of all of them? It is that they look like they are having so much fun. It does not matter if it is exercise equipment, like things Tony Little would sell, or the juicer from the late jack LaLanne, it does not matter. It is more about making it look like everyone is having a great time. You know those dance aerobic workouts, the ones that come in many forms? They are popular because again they are fun. So for someone who is going to be exercising say twenty minutes a day , well make sure it is fun and you will continue to do it.

Change It up- I think that when you see those commercials I spoke about in point two, they look exciting. However try that every day for five to seven days a week. Now ask me how much you enjoy it. I would recommend that type of workout say day one. Then day two try perhaps the wii fit if you have one. Then the next day go back to it. That way you are not going to let things get stale. That again is important.
