Install under Cabinet Microwave to get Ease in your Kitchen

One of the most important appliances of kitchen is the under cabinet microwave oven, which has very quickly replaced the old and conventional ovens. A kitchen's completeness is determined by the presence of refrigerator, an oven and a source of water. Though, its features cannot always be highlighted, but setting the position of microwaves is equally important to get the best results.

In many kitchens of big cities and flats in inner city, kitchen space is very less which needs to be taken care of, while installing microwave oven. The space problem can be solved using the modern microwaves which have been designed to save some space on the countertops of kitchen, and to save some space for cooking. The functions performed are almost similar to that of a regular microwave and these products make use of smart sensor technology for reduction of cooking time and reheating. Also these are much easier to clean.

These specially designed under cabinet microwaves are much lighter than their counterparts, which is another reason for the popularity of these microwave ovens as these have to be established below the cabinet. Also proper installation is very essential to avoid the risks involved in this process. However, if properly followed, it is quite easy procedure and can be done quite conveniently.

The first step is marking the centre of the installation area followed by locating and marking the wall studs. The wall template, which is provided with the microwave, is taken and its centre line is aligned with the marking on the walls, and finally the cabinet template is taped to the underside of the kitchen cabinet.

The popularity of microwave ovens has been enhanced by the easy installation procedures. The four holes present at the corners are then marked and the bottom hole that is aligned with one of the wall studs is also marked. The mounting plate needs to be secured in at least one of these studs. The circles are now drilled using screws whose sizes are chosen according to the holes being drilled. The mounting is held against a wall and then placed to the wall after aligning it with the centre line.

A 3/8" hole is drilled along with 2" hole as per the indicated points for the cord of power supply. The oven is then lifted with another person's help and is hung on support table at the bottom of the mounting plate. Power is fed through the power cord and the screws are finally tightened. It must be made sure that the gaps between the microwaves and the cabinet must be closed.
