Port de Pollenca or Puerto Pollenca or Puerto Pollensa, is a small town in the north east of Majorca, and situated on the Bay of Pollenca.
This location of Majorca offers those who love to walk, many countless and magnificent walks to be able to experience wonderful views and landscapes. The variety for the walking is across the whole spectrum of hiking holidays to those of a gentle walk in the park. The range of activities is magnificent and perfect for those who are adventurous.
Anywhere in Majorca is a great location for a lovely walk through the beaches or the Port where visitors can relax and watch the yachts docking in and out of the harbour. So I shall pick my own area, that of the Port de Pollenca, even though many of the islands port towns offer lovely walks along the water's edges, where one can watch the fishing vessels ply their ancient trade, or the fishermen repairing their well worn nets.
Without doubt, one of most popular and loved walking trails is that of the dedicated to pedestrians only, aptly named the Passeig Anglada Camarassa - Vormar in the Port de Pollenca, a truly beautiful lovers paradise to stroll alongside the waters edges. As a magnificent alternative you have the naturally named Pine Walk, one of the main areas, which stretches most of the way along the beaches, and from which its name is derived due to all of natures wonderful old pine trees that run along the whole length.
Giving perfect shade in the heat of day, but as an added bonus, there are very many lovely restaurants and beach bars where you can stop a while, and reflect on where to walk to next. In fact you could make this a perfect mini walking holiday, because there are also many lovely hotels and Majorca villas to be had along the whole length of this bay. It's a great holiday location where guests can visit and make a wonderful vacation for all age ranges.
Yet another lovely walk of some six kilometres is to walk inland to the town of Pollenca, and take in all of the sights and fragrances all around you, and then do a little shopping in the old town. On the southern side is the large and older town, which has a much wider promenade suitable for long walks, and of course your shops and restaurants and accommodation for fabulous Majorca holidays.
