As you already know, On Page Optimization technique in SEO is directly related to the content, theme and structure of the website.
The contents of your website or blog are written in html or any other mark-up languages and your On Page Optimization is not only applies to the contents but other contents like, images, pdf files, word documents or videos etc.
The basic On Page Optimization task includes modifying keyword frequency in the URL, Title, and Headings, Hypertext links and body text or contents. As I learned from my experience you can use 3 or 4 the key words or phrases which directly related to your post content.

Keyword Research:
Search for most used keywords on internet using free or paid services over the internet. Build a quality unique content around it. Use those keywords in your title, tags and the description of your blog post. This will defiantly improve your SEO and search engine bots will consider your blog or website for higher ranking for On Page Optimization.
Keyword Density:
Keyword Density is another important factor in On Page Optimization. Once you have identified your keyword then, spread it around your content. As I mentioned in my earlier article the keyword density must be under 3 to 4 percent of your total content. If you use more than that percentage then search engines may penalize you for keyword stuffing or using the black hat seo method. It's really important to have keywords under that percentage. I'm using SEOPressor Plug-in for my On Page Optimization which informs me about the keyword density i have as well as my SEO score.
Title:
Always Use related Keywords in your page titles. Keywords in the title works better than the keywords you use in the Meta tag. Make sure to use most important related keywords of your content is included in the title and spread it all over your article. I'm sure that you use images on your website. On Page Optimization technique also includes the optimization of images on your website. Use keywords as alt tag. As I said earlier the SEOPressor plugin does all these for you.

H1,H2, H3 Tags or heading tags makes difference in On Page Optimization. Always use those Search Engine friendly heading tags at least once in your contents.
Description:

Internal Links:
Internal linking means cross-linking of your old articles which will do much more good in the context of SEO optimizing and increasing the page views. Search engines like Google also values your internal linking.
