Kenneth Copeland: How to Be A Good Follower

How do you define disobedience? If you try to find from the dictionary you'll know that it means the "refusal or failure to obey". Refusal or failure to obey what? Or for that matter who? Even Christians, who are identified to the world with the most zeal for holiness, even have the difficulty to follow His ways. For what reason? It is because most of us do not know what exactly the Word of God means. Each of us has our own designated path God particularly carved for us. Disobedience in the opinion of Kenneth Copeland is taking the different path God has intended for us to take.

There is only one life for a Christian. That is to serve God, then our fellow Christian brothers and sisters. After serving them, only then can we serve ourselves. Pay attention that there is no mentioned "serving to the earthly things". For when come the time when we all need to leave the cocoon of the Earth, our expensive car, big house and bank account will be left behind. So we must start thinking now whether to worship things that do not last, or the God that will never forsake us should times become difficult. These are only diversions. Of course these material things are indeed the upshot of our effort and creativity, but over time we have forgotten that they are meant to please God, and not become a thing that would replace Him, becoming a center of our universe.

So can we become good followers of Him? Kenneth Copeland says incalculable people have asked the same question to him. Not knowing that the answer is already in front of them, only unnoticed to their own eyes for they are looking beyond. Forever forgetting that when God has created us in His own exact image He has also given us the power to connect to Him in our own thoughts. We are blessed with the inner spirit that other earthly creatures do not possess. And through this spirit that we could use to link to God.

"I have meditated for more than a few hours, and have not yet heard what is popularly called "the voice of God", does it mean I am not blessed to walk His way and live with Him forever?" No. We should not doubt the ability of God to forgive and forget. We could sin many times and God can defeat the evil in our hearts. The reason you cannot hear Him must be explained to your inability to communicate with Him with your purest thoughts. Study the Word of God and through this you could be able to know Him better. We have the will of mind, but God has the Will of the spirit.

Sometimes our will and determination could be intended to please or to gratify our earthly needs. We must not forget that our spirit has a deeper need any priceless material thing could not meet. We should take it to the top of our list to nurture first our spiritual needs. Then you might start to realize you do not need any latest gadgets or posh cars in your life. Kenneth Copeland says, only in this stage you will begin to hear God speaking to you.
