If your child is bullied at school it will affect them for life. Most people will say no. It is wrong to think it will somehow make your child stronger by learning to cope with the school bully. The harm is serious and irreversible.Quite the reverse is true unfortunately for your child. The child's self esteem and self worth are greatly affected by bullying. When a child, your child, is constantly physically and verbally abused, laughed at and made to feel inferior, they develop an inferiority complex. Bullied children want to underachieve and the process is pathological. Your child will become afraid to stand out from the crowd for fear of being noticed by life's bully and put back in their place. The painful childhood memories make them hide somewhere in the middle to low end of their capability in anything. The self esteem is shattered and the desire to succeed is beaten out of them. Life becomes simpler and easier to underachieve.Self promotion is affected and suppressed. Low self esteem makes the child feel worthless. They never feel they are the one who can make a difference or get the result or get the promotion or that special job that is advertised. They lack the courage to try to siucceed because the school bully forever haunts their psychic. They will never push themselves forward in sport, work, the chance of promotion or in relationships. Underachievement can be expected.Poor communication is the direct result of bullying. These children suffer terrible emotional torment and the only way of coping is to bottle up the frustration and pain and lock it away. Poor communication and social skills will make the victim of bullying introverted. they lack confidence to talk to people and become asocial. They lack the confidence to talk to members of the opposite sex. They struggle to build relationships both at a personal level and in th workplace. They will miss opportunities to succeed and opportunities for promotion because they lack the "can do" attitude and the "killer instinct".Bullying greatly affects their self confidence and their social skills. They will struggle to gain acceptance to peer groups and therefore struggle to make friends and to build social relationships. A world without friends, a friendly face at work and a biological partner for nurturing creates a vacuum of loneliness and despair and sadness that it is difficult to come out of.Self defence is lacking all the way through their lives. These bullied children will live with regret from every chapter of their life as they don't have the confidence to take action when they are treated unfairly or with a lack of respect. They live with regret for what they should have said or done but didn't have the confidence or inner strength to take action. The big moments in their life will come and go with an outcome that disappoints them. Nothing will ever seem to go their way because they failed to seize the moment and take action.Depression is common in children that are bullied. They never get what they want in life. Your child is destined to grow with sadness, anxiety and a lack of self confidence. Anorexia or suicide are tragic consequences of poor self esteem that develops as a result of being bullied at school. Most parents don't want this for their children. You must take action to give your child the best possible outcome in life and to help them to be all that they can be.
