Every want to learn about woodworking Plans?

First off, my hands are weapons, and not in a good way. I choose to pay other people because, quite frankly, I break things, not fix them. My wife jokes that my favorite tool is a check book. However, I have tried a few different woodworking plans, many are very good, but at the same time lack things. I want to just review one of them today, Teds woodworking seems to be among the more popular woodworking plan on the market today.

The program was created by Ted McGrath, who is a professional woodworker and teacher. I will review the Teds Woodworking and tell you what I liked, and what needs some work.

What Exactly Is it?

Ted McGrath is a popular woodworker and educator. He created Teds Woodworking, which is giant collection of over 16,000 woodworking projects, blueprints and ideas. You can use these plans to build, well, pretty much anything! Sheds, furniture, lawn chairs, dog houses, cat houses, bird houses, bird feeders...You get the idea. Teds Woodworking plan took well over 2 years to put together. Not only is it the most comprehensive, bit it is easy tofollow. (Again, remember checkbook)

Is it REALLY worth gettingwoodworking plans.

Sure, most will cut out a lot of time searching hte intenet. Heck, you need plans anyways.

WORKS FOR ALL LEVELS

Beginners will thrive using this program because the plans are clear and easy to follow. I would Highly recommend that beginners pick an EASY project and build from there. This will help allow you to build a smaller projects and gain confidence to move up to larger carpentry projects. More experienced and even professional woodworkers will love the variety of projects. Again, over 16,000 different plans. Some of the larger projects obviously need more time and experience, but the higher end projects would challenge even the best woodworkers. (And when I say challenge, I mean the scope of the build, everything is still step-by-step).

ORGANIZATION

I know you hear 16,000+ plans, this must be a disaster to find a project that suits you? Not with Teds Woodworking, it is remarkable organized. I always found it pretty easy to find exactly what the project I wanted.

MAJOR BONUSES

What I liked about Teds Woodworking plans, it includes a free bonus "DWG/CAD Plan Viewer" . This ALONE is worth a couple hundred dollars. When I started, I had NO IDEA why I would need this. But, WOW, I know now. With this tool, you can edit, modify or even create your own woodworking plans. If you love woodworking, this tool is worth the price by itself!

It also comes witha lifetime membership, which includes over 150 premium woodworking videos. You also get a copy of the "Complete Woodworking Guide". This provides over 200 pages of solid, step by step advice, tips & tricks, and color photos.

Okay, It would be unfair to not include some things I believe need to be addressed.

LITTLE OVERWHEMLING

Again, I am a total novice, so Home Depot is overwhelming to me. I guess because of the massive amount different projects and plans, it can be a little overwhelming at first. However the plans are well organized by category, and once you play around awhile, your fine.

DOWNLOADING:

Because of the size of the download package, if you have a slow connection, or dial-up, it may take some time to completely download all the blueprints. This can be solved by upgrading to the DVD edition in the members' area. Not necessary, but if you like things NOW, then it's an option.

LINKS

I had a problem opening a couple links in the members area. However, with the massive library, I moved on to a like item. I was told that when some are updated, the older ones get taken off. So, this may be a good thing, not iffy.

SO........

I like Teds Woodworking a lot. But that is for you to make up your own mind. This was just a review. Either try this one, or another! That is totally your call. Remember, make sure the plans have a great amount plans, blueprints and ideas. Also, ones that offers solutions to those projects you started, and never finished. That is also a great part of this program, a new prospective on any old projects your started.Hope that you found this Teds Woodworking review to be helpful for you, and no matter what you ty, keep woodworking. All the best!
