U. S Naval Academy Combines Academic with Moral, Physical, and Professional Education

Founded in the year 1845 by George Bancroft, the then Secretary of the Navy in the historic Annapolis, U.S Naval Academy has always been a pride point for the country. History and evolution of the academy has been simultaneous with the growth of United States. Evolution from the steam and sail powered fleet of battle ships to the highly technical nuclear powered ships and submarines loaded with supersonic aircrafts have been remarkable.

Training up Younger Generation

Basically the U.S Naval Academy taps the young men and women and trains them up academically as well as professionally to become seasoned naval or marine officers. Graduates from the institution find it easy to have assignments of such nature in their future careers.

Unique Pattern

Though basically a defense service oriented institution, the U.S Naval Academy has the unique pattern of formulating courses combining moral, mental, and physical training besides the customary job training for its students. Mentors and trainers both realize that moral as well as ethical development is fundamental aspect of naval experience since after graduation these trainees would be in charge of multi-million dollar equipments.

Academic and Professional Education and Training

Academic program in the institute commences with core curriculum. It includes courses in science, mathematics, engineering, social science, humanities, and various others. This part of the academic curriculum is meant to provide the students with broad based education qualifying them for midshipmen job and virtually for any career in the Naval or Marine fields. In addition; the Academy also offers professional and leadership training for students. Students passing four years in the Academy become so adopted to the life and services of Naval corps that it becomes their second nature altogether.

Distinction for High Caliber Students

Unlike other educational institutions the U.S Naval Academy offers some different courses like the challenging programs in honors as well as various opportunities to commence their post graduation even while they are in the Academy. Also professional classroom courses are coupled with practical training for gaining experience in naval operations and leaderships. These include assignments in Navy as well as the Marine Corps units.

Emphasis on Physical Education

Last but not the least the Academy puts emphasis on physical development of the trainees. Naval Academy athletic program is an integral part of the training process and is different from the civilian schools.

U.S Naval Academy is ideal for building up a professional career.
