Some Secret tips to keep your eyes sparkiling

Puffines under eyes

Place chilled,used teabags on closed eyelids for about 10 minutes. The caffeine in tea will work like a diuretic to help rid the eyelids of excess fluid, and the puffiness will vanish in no time.

Alternatively, place two slices of potato on the eyes and relax for 10 minutes.

Dark Circles

Place thin pumpkin slices on your eyes.

Grind and mix 5 almonds, 1 teaspoon fresh cream,juice of half a lemon, teaspoon fuller's earth and potato grated to a thick paste. Apply around the eyes. Leave for 10 minutes. Wipe of with cotton wool dipped in warm milk.

Take 1 teaspoon tomato juice, teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch and termeric powder and a little gram flour. Make a paste and apply. Leave for 10 minutes and wash.

Drink tomato juice with a few mint leaves and a dash of lemon juice and salt.

Soak cotton wool in encumber juice or potato juice and apply around the eyes. You will see the difference in two-three weeks.

Crows feet

Apply a mixture of curd and gram flour to the face and leave on for 15 minutes before washing off.

To prevent crow's feet,mix equal proportions of cold cucumber juice with rose water and lemon juice. Cover the region around the eyes with cotton wool soaked in this mixture.

Eye Problems

Boil apple peel in water for a few minutes. Strain and sweeten with honey. Drink this or use it as an eye wash (for washing eyes, honey may be omited). Apple peel water is an excellent medicine for inflamed eyes.

Splash tap water several times into the eyes when you wash your face in the mornings. This will help to maintain perfect eyesight up to a ripe old age.

Removing foreign particles from eyes

Dissolve teaspoon of boric powder in cup water and wash your eyes and wash your eyes with it 2-3 times.

Ocasionally put a drop of refined castor oil into your eyes to rid them of dirt and to keep them clean and clear.

Eye strain

Lavender oil offers gentle relief for tired and strained eyes. Add a drop of lavender oil to 500 ml of water and shake the solution well. Dip two cotton wool pads in the liquid, squeeze out the excess water and place one pad over each eye. If you wear contact lenses, they must be removed first.

Tomato leaves are known to form a good tonic for the eyes and optic nerve. Take a small handful of freshly plucked leaves and keep covered in hot water for 15 minutes. Strain and store. Have a teaspoonful of this water three times daily before meals.

Golden tips for healthy eyes

Remove eye make-up at bed time. Be gentle as the eye area is the most delicate part of the face.

Avoid applying maskara too frequently.

Never read in dim or insufficent light. Blink your eyes frequently while reading.

Do not read while travelling in motor vehicles or trains.

Do not wear spectacles which are cracked or with any scratches, dirt or spots.

Use sunglasses to protect your eyes from sunlight. Those that UV rays are ideal.

Use only good quanlity eye make-up.
