New Google Strategies

With all the brouhaha taking place with Google's new "algorithms," many internet businesses are dealing with tremendous amounts of lost traffic up to 80% - and quickly trying to revamp their strategies so stop the staggering losses. "Low quality" content is on trial, and old methods of SEO are out the door.

Linking, though, remains important. So even if you are revamping your SEO methodology, keeping your links strong should remain a key factor in the equation. When all is said and done, having REAL links to "trustworthy" web pages brings in traffic.

So what should you do now?

Write well-written, readable copy. Spinning and posting on thousands of web sites will only lower your rankings in Google, so don't even go there. Hire professional writers to write content for your small business that has value and post it on no more than three, established web sites. When it's posted too many times, Google picks it up as spammy and tosses it right out.

It comes down to integrity. It's been too easy to pick up on and manipulate the rankings, and users have complained that when they run a search, all they get is "farmed" content instead of actual information.

Now it's up to you to create materials that show that your business organization is a class act.

Here's the method:

1) Write professional copy that's interesting and readable.

2) Include three links to different web pages on your site.

3) Post the content to three, reputable web sites.

That's it.

One important note, be on top of article pirates who steal your content and make it cheap, which will lower your search rankings. Web site owners who write their own, original content have been shocked to find their articles on thousands of other web sites. If you see this, contact Google and they will shut down the site. Protecting your copy and keeping it original needs to be part of your overall maintenance plan for keeping your content fresh and authentic.

Continue to write and post interesting and new articles and content consistently to keep upping your links and your rankings. Although it does take work, think of it as an investment if you score high in the rankings, it's worth thousands of what you'd pay to a marketer. If your business has the means, outsource an employee to do this for you.
