It's a humorous look at what a car salesperson goes through on a daily basis to sell cars and keep them moving off the lot. With an all star cast of comedians under the direction of Neal Brennan this movie delivers the laughs. James Brolin's character Ben Selleck is an owner of a car dealer ship in danger of going out of business. He hires Jerry Piven, who plays Don Ready a smooth talking professional car salesman that comes in and helps Brolin sell cars for his Fourth of July sale. Don blows in with his crew of car sales people played by Ving Rhames as Jibby Newsome and Kathryn Hahn as Babs Merrick and the fun begins.
Allan Thicke plays the bad guy Stu Harding who is owner of a rival Car Dealership. He makes a bet with Brolin's character that if he doesn't sell every car on his lot the dealership would be his. The fun begins when the sale begins and Don Ready (Piven) and his team swing in to action. The pressure is on with everything on the line. They try vigorously to sell the cars and get them off the lot. Don Is dealing with his own demons of feeling like he is responsible for the death of his Deejay and best friend MCDermott played by Will Ferrell who is also one of the producers of the film. Don's guilt consumes him as he struggles to deal with the death of his friend. The new Deejay they hire for the sale is played by Craig Robinson and what sets him apart from other Deejay's is he refuses to play any music that is requested. Which makes for some very funny moments.
The Goods:Live Hard, Sell Hard may not be this years blockbuster, but it does deliver the laughs. It is movie going fun for anyone needing a laugh.
