1. Eat 5-6 small meals

There weren't too many overweight cavemen because they ate when they were hungry. Eating because you're bored or depressed isn't wise when you want to shed pounds. Instead, eat every three hours or so, and make each meal small and healthy. This will keep your stomach full and your blood sugar up, so you'll be less likely to crave unhealthy snacks.

2. Do "intermittent fasting"

Clinical studies show that fasting provides several health benefits, besides helping you to shed pounds. "Intermittent fasting" works because it confuses your body, thus boosting its metabolism. This method alternates periods of eating, with periods of fasting. The 24-24 version alternates an entire day of eating, with an entire day of fasting. If that seems too challenging, then you could follow the 20-4 version. What's important is that you fast for a minimum of 18 hours daily.

3. Mix up your exercise routine

There are several methods. One of the most effective ones is to change the types of exercises that you include in your regimen. For instance, changing the body parts that you focus on during your workout can help you to shed pounds faster.

4. Get enough sleep

How much is "enough"? Typically, you should daily get a total of 7-8 hours of shut-eye. That total figure could include a daytime nap of 1-2 hours. Experts aren't 100% sure why more sleep results in more weight-loss. It could be linked to hormones, metabolism, or even calorie-burning fidgeting while you sleep. Whatever the reason, there's definitely a link between how much sleep you get, and how much weight loss you experience.

5. Drink water

Do you want to lose weight? Not only should you drink water, but you should even consider only drinking water. Avoid sodas and alcohol altogether if you want to lose weight at a lightning speed. If you're going to drink anything besides H20, then stick to fresh fruit juice, black coffee, and green tea.

6. Avoid eating past 6:00 PM.

One of the biggest mistakes that we can make in terms of when we eat is eating a heavy midnight snack. Nighttime is typically the least active time of the day, so you won't need a lot of energy or food. Keep your dinner light. If you feel hungry before bedtime, then eat a light and healthy snack at least one hour before hitting the sack.

7. Do your cardio

Besides doing weight-resistance training at least three times weekly, you should also do cardiovascular exercising at least five times weekly. The actual type of cardio that you do doesn't matter as much as doing it. So whether it's jogging, swimming, bicycling, or rollerblading, what's most important about cardio is doing it regularly.

While losing weight isn't an exact science, taking the above steps will help you to shed pounds and fat faster. Do some experimentation to learn which methods work best for you.
