As I wrapped up my day, I was reflecting back on all the conversations and heart felt stories that I had to empathize with. Those asking for a job, food, medical, place to live and etc.. I drifted off into a state like day dream, breaking out with a cold sweat, wondering how am I going to pull this thing call life off? Quick! Can someone please pinch me, punch me, pun me, wake me, or better yet, can someone please tell me this is all a joke and it's April Fool's Day!
I take no sides politically, so please understand my views are strictly within the passion and cause that are within me. Looking back and starting with the Y2K drama, remember the big scare that had came about within our media? We went into a frenzy of worry of what would happen and what we could not live without. It pains me to think that for the past 9 years our elites have slumped as a nation of "professional numismatistic crack heads". We have lived under the fantasy governmental rule of the past era of craving and only wanting riches of greed rather than being concerned for ones own welfare, along with not having empathy for your neighbor. Was it just me, but it sure felt like the rich got richer and the poor became just poh. Our nation was being deprived of the things that we truly needed. Is it a luxury to have health insurance? Is it a luxury to actually own a home? Is it a luxury to have electricity, gas, heat, air & perhaps transportation? You see the United States is a beautiful country standing behind its right to freedom and our deep fight to preserve what's right and what's wrong. We just overlooked one thing. WHATS RIGHT! Let me go back Isn't it our RIGHT to have affordable, or better yet, free health insurance? Isn't it our RIGHT to have a home? Isn't it our RIGHT to have electricity, gas, heat, air and yes, transportation? And what comes with RIGHT is being able to have it BY RIGHT.
So what's the point? The point is, I woke up one morning and my president stated to the world that the things that we needed the most would now finally be implemented. I got up so fast from a deep slumber and danced around my television set as if I was trying to make it rain Can you believe that? You mean that we might actually be able to have health insurance, a home, electricity, and air? After watching the movie "John Q" the other night on cable, I almost felt vindicated and seemingly powerful. Remember when the character John Q had to literally take a hospital hostage in order to get his point across about how @#$% up our health care system is? I shouted at the television set as if I was at a revival in the heat of a gospel summer. As for the home industry..my hearts go out to those who have lost their homes and have worked so hard to try to keep it. It is truly not fair that it took this long for our government to take the initiative. It is BY RIGHT that every American should have the credit of being a homeowner right off. We definitely do not need any more credit from the credit card companies. Well, why can't we as American "citizens" have a credit (of up to the national average home sales price) to buy "1" home per family. Let me go further than that how about "1" credit for a car, how about credit for electricity, shall I go on. I thnk we all have worked too hard to just lie down and be given what is just acceptable.
Unemployment is another issue that needs to be addressed in stat! Being a former EDD state personnel, I still have a hard time swallowing that unemployment is a benefit? It should be more like a RIGHT. Of course with reasonable cause, or through no fault of their own, shouldn't claimants pretty much all be approved of these benefits? However not all are... I am sad to say, I was also that one who used to approve and decine claimants by sticking to the laws and regulations only. Some things do need to be changed or updated to fit and blend with our new economics... I respond to the unemployed workers organizations and send my letters to Congress jevery month due to the shouts and pains of the unemployed, for I too have been there and know what that degrading period of time entailed.
But for now You see I'm still waiting for someone to tell me its April Fools Day for this can't be actually real? Can it?
