ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF A STEAM SHOWER

Steam Generator- First and foremost, seems obvious. Surprisingly cheap to run, at today's rates about 0.17 per 30 minute session. 3KW is a great sized steam generator as not to waste power but still have enough in the tank for the season professionals.

Monsoon shower- Monson shower, overhead soaker, rain shower which ever name been given, are a fantastic way to completely drench the body and shower. These should be of good size, at least 8 inch diameter, and as long as there is good water pressure/flow rate to it, you never go back to a standard shower head again.

Riser Hand Shower- Good for when you want that quick shower without getting your hair wet or vice versa when you just want to wash your hair. Multi mode shower head is always an added bonus so you can select different water sprays.

Touch Screen Control Panel- Like I said in the introduction about new innovations and feature's it hard to keep up. Touch screen controls on steam showers have been around for a couple of years now, moving on from the old soft touch button type. Ensuring your shower has a touch screen not only ensures your purchasing one of the newer editions, but also adds to the look and sophistication of the unit.

Radio and CD connection- For me this is a great feature, although I should never be encouraged to sing in the shower, this great little simple feature changes the whole experience of a shower. Fantastic for keeping up with the day's news, even better for getting ready for a night on the town, most units have good sound and the radio can be used at any time weather showering or not.

Extractor fan- Helps circulate the steam, keeps it fresh and free from stagnating. Ideally you should have an additional external extractor fan to rid the bathroom of any steam and condensation.

Thermostatic Valve- Most steam showers will probably come with a mixing valve rather than a thermostatic. Some may offer you the choice to choose which best suit's you. Essential a mixer valve says what it does in the name, hot and cold are feed into the valve at either side and you position the valve to select the required mixture of the hot and cold.
