Avacado Mash half an avacado and then apply all over your face. Wash off after 15 minutes and pat dry. This will keep the skin soft.

Banana mask- Mash a quarter of a banana and apply on face and keep on till it begins to dry up. Reapply again and massage gently and then wash after few minutes.

Papaya- The pulp of a ripe papaya is an excellent hydrating agent. Apply as a thick layer on face and wash once dry.

Aloe Vera- Take an aloe vera leaf, cut the thorny egdes, split it open and apply on face, hands and feet. Repeat again once the mask begins to dry up. It soothes and cools dry skin.

Apply milk or milk cream twice a day. Wash after 10 minutes.

Yoghurt is also an excellent moisturiser. Mix it with little rice powder and apply on face and neck. Once it is dry, sprinkle some water on the face and massage the facial skin gently. This is a natural scrub and helps keep blackheads at bay. Proper scrubbing helps better absorption of moisturisers.

Honey is a wonderful moisturiser and can be applied alone or in combination with milk. Keep for atleast 20 minutes before washing off. Adding a few drops of almond, olive or coconut oil to into the bath will also helps in moisturising dry skin.

Long hot water baths and harsh soaps will dry the skin. So avoid very long hot water baths and use a mild soap only. Feeding your skin with nutrients is also important as applying face masks and cream. A healthy skin often comes from a healthy diet.

Eat food rich in omega -3 fatty acids and Vitamin E like salmon, mackerel, flax seeds, almonds etc. Eat lots of fruits and fresh vegetables. Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated. Reduce the intake of caffeinated drinks and try herbal teas instead.
