In simple word the work of Nude Art and Paintings are those where the artist tries to portray someone or an individual without clothes. It is interesting to know that Artists want to represent the true self. The true self of an individual is the soul, and possibly the deepest thought of an Artist is captured in the Painting. It is only humans who wear clothes to reside in the civilized society. Animals and other form of living beings on earth still don't wear any clothes. Their beauty lies in their bare body. The beautiful peacock would not look so attractive if it wore some clothes over its colorful feathers. These Feathers are the best feature of the peacock and makes him appear handsome while they dance. Just imagine a peacock wearing a cover or a Lion wearing a scarf over his head. That would hide their real good look. Similarly Artists want to portray the true beauty and the true self of us. Sometimes it is difficult to find out the correct expressive thought of an Artist from their Art or Paintings, but we have to liberate our mind and think from our true self to understand the real feel behind the Nude Art and Paintings. Nude Art can be in a statue, a sculpture, an embossed piece of work or a Painting on a canvas. It's the perception with which we look into the Piece of Art being created.
Nude Art is the oldest form of Art that was developed by humans. If we go back in our past, The stone age, when humans were similar like animals and they didn't learn about wearing clothes. The prehistoric humans relied on hunting and lived like animals only. Still they were creative and they were artistic too, and we got the proof of their artistic nature from the cave paintings. The Early cave Paintings found from different parts of the world all represented the form of Nude art and Paintings. With the development of the civilization from Stone Age to Bronze Age and So on, Art and Paintings were always a part of all culture and was a means of relaxation too. We should be thankful to our Ancestors as because of them today we know who we are. Paintings are more expressive and illustrative than scripts and so this still exist in our culture. All the early form of paintings found in the caves of Ajanta and Ellora, Elephanta Cave, Temples of Khajuraho, Viharas, Buddhist Jataka's on Stupas, Meenakshi temple, Konark Temple, Shore temple and so on, has a blend of Nude Art and Paintings. This was not limited to India even the heritage of Art and Paintings obtained from Greece, Rome, Early America, Africa, Egypt and Babylonia all were influenced by the Nude art and crafts and Paintings. Nude Paintings are the oldest form of Artwork ever found on earth. Even back in our History of all cultures, The nude paintings have been ubiquitous. So that is why I consider this as one of the early form of art ever found. . So its very evident that the existence of the nude art and paintings are from the very early stage. Hence it is famous and unique in its own.
