In addition, the technology that uses flexible displays could mean that information accessed via hard screen devices through the Internet could literally be put into anything. Imagine having an object that had the Internet at just a touch? It really is miraculous technology that the flexible screen could bring to our world. Especially in certain fields that could utilize the technology for more than just great entertainment. The medical world could benefit from having this type of technology and being able to give patients information right from their fingertips via a device that they carry around with them at all times.
But what are the chances of this type of technology becoming something that is available in the market? As of right now most companies are not wanting to spend the funds on developing this type of technology. The reason is that many companies view this as meaningless since there are so many other ways in which the same information can be retrieved. For example, consider the devices that project the image onto a wall or paper enabling everyone, besides the user, to see it. For many people this would just be something that those with excessive funds would purchase rather than something that would demand an audience. Therefore, it does not seem like we should be expecting the flexible display technology to catch on anytime soon.
However, though it may not appeal to the mass market, there are some companies that are experimenting with the technology in order to use this for new devices that they hope appeals to the masses. Some of the flexible technology is going to be implemented in the next few years, however, the person cannot expect to find a display that is going to allow the bend-ability that traditional flexible displays allow. For example, companies are finding ways to utilize this technology in order to manufacture curved screens for things such as watches that could be given Internet and data access. It is something that is going to be built on in the years to come and what is produced from this technology is going to be mind-blowing.
