2011 marks the 20th year anniversary for PRORehab. Offering physical, occupational and sports therapy in St. Louis since 1991, PRORehab has become the unquestioned leader in physical rehabilitation services. Started by 3 physical therapists in one small clinic in Brentwood, MO, PRORehab now offers rehabilitation services at 23 facilities and employs over 100 licensed physical and occupational therapists. An intense, singular focus on providing the best possible care to their patients has led to the success of PRORehab.
For the past 20 years, the 3 original owners of PRORehab, Bill Franzen, Jim Host and Randy Craig, have worked tirelessly to build an organization where the patient comes first. They began by taking on the hardest cases and caring for the patients that had failed physical therapy elsewhere. By succeeding where others had failed, PRORehab quickly gained the confidence of physicians in St. Louis and expanded their footprint to include Jefferson County and Washington County. By 1998, PRORehab continued its expansion based on the needs and demands of referral sources to Southwestern Illinois, St. Charles County and Franklin County.
PRORehab Expands Its Physical Therapy Locations
This expansion was not only geographic, but included the addition of much needed services. Certified Hand Therapists, experts in the evaluation and treatment of hand, wrist and elbow injuries, now provide their services at 17 PRORehab locations. Certified Hand Therapy, an advanced certification gained by physical or occupational therapists, has grown in demand as more and more physicians appreciate the value of having a therapist with advanced certification providing care for their patients.
As PRORehab grew in geographic size and services, others took note. PRORehab became a go-to provider for physical therapy services with injured workers that had been injured on the job in Missouri or Illinois. Due to PRORehab's unquestioned commitment to quality therapy services and exceptional customer service, employers began directing their injured workers to PRORehab to facilitate a return to function and an ultimate return to work. A cornerstone of rehabilitating an injured worker is the ability to simulate their job functions while in therapy. PRORehab now offers 7 sites where injured workers can maximize their functional capabilities through aggressive and comprehensive Work Hardening and Work Conditioning programs. These programs, directed by a licensed occupational therapist, have a profound effect on returning patients to work and keeping them at work. PRORehab's Industrial Rehabilitation therapists work closely with the other physical and occupational therapists at PRORehab to develop a treatment program that maximizes patients' abilities.
Physical Therapy Services for High Schools & Sports Teams
In addition, local High Schools and Sports Teams took note of PRORehab's commitment to aggressive physical rehabilitation and sports medicine. Today, PRORehab offers Athletic Training services at 14 local high schools and several local colleges and sports clubs. This outreach and dedication to the young athlete is a cornerstone of their success.
For the past 10 years, PRORehab physical therapists have continued the work that Bill, Jim and Randy began 20 years ago. At PRORehab, survival of the business results from each and every patient, referral source and customer becoming a "Raving Fan" spreading the word to their friends, families and colleagues about their experience with PRORehab. PRORehab has responded by adding additional state of the art facilities in convenient locations and by offering therapists continuing education opportunities in Manual Therapy, Woman's Health/Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, ASTYMand others.
