Still, some people like to take their sticks, and roast marshmallows on it while they're enjoying their wood burning fire. It should be kept in mind that if a person is using a propane gas flame, they should not stick marshmallows into these.
One other type of outdoor pit to mention is the fire domes. Fire domes are pits that create an extra source of atmosphere. These are metal and copper pits that have intricate designs drilled into the dome. When a fire is lit inside of the pit, then the glow of the flame will emanate outside of the holes, and the light will then cast the pattern on the surrounding areas. These are especially great for creating atmosphere after a party.
