Fisher Metal Detectors: Use the Best to Find the Best

In the course of my life I've had to pinch a penny or two. I've used coupons, compared deals at different stores, and simply gone without. But, sometimes, quality is paramount, regardless of the price tag. Here are two things I have learned:

One: When you find a good quality product or brand, be loyal.

Two: Good service is worth its weight in gold.

Take, for example, my retirement. I took up treasure hunting to fill my days and keep my brain active. I shopped around for the right metal detector for quite some time firstI found the cheapies at the local discount retailer and I found industrial caliber models that were priced in the four figures. Then I found a few websites (yes, part of the whole endeavor was learning how to "Google") that featured Fisher metal detectors. I narrowed the options further by checking out the customer service policies online and even giving the businesses a call to see how they operated. If they offered good service, I kept them on the list. If not, gone.

I stuck with Fisher metal detectors for a few good reasons:

They have a very wide range of detectors in a broad price range. That gave me a little more control over what features I really had to have and how much I was willing to pay.

This brand has been around since 1931they are older than I amwhich is just good. Period.

Because they have been around and are so popular, you can find a number of sites that offer this brand. Thus, you can simply price shop for deals once you've selected a model.

Speaking of selecting a model, there are a number of resources online, from retail outlets, to local shops, to the Fisher website itself that have detailed descriptions about the models and features.

In addition to the actual detector, there are a lot of accessories available, like headphones, scoops, carrying cases, and more.

I ultimately went with the F4 metal detector. It had a nice price point and I got it through another site that sold items rich in American traditionit was like the stars aligned just right. Old time values in customer service, a quality detector from a brand that's been around for decades, and the price was just right. That's a homerun in my book.

So, going back to my original tenants, I can say that:

One: I am loyal both to the Fisher metal detectors and the site that I got it from.

Two: Customer service is a winner every time.
