But what an all-inclusive holiday can't do is allow you to sample the authentic food of your holiday destination, as they will more than likely cater for the tastes of their foreign clientele, and create dishes that aren't too spicy, tasteful or memorable, meaning that you could go to Spain without ever tasting paella, or travel to Mexico without discovering the taste of quesadillas. If you want a true taste of the cuisine of your chosen holiday country, then a self-catering holiday is the best way to do it.

As previously mentioned, many people find it impossible to leave their hotels due to the comforts of the resort, but if you can get out of your resort for a day, just do it, because that way you can get to see more of the country you are visiting. Many holiday companies arrange tours to local sites and landmarks, such as churches, memorial sites and other places of interest, while some package holidays offer these, there's nothing quite as satisfying as going out on your own and organising your own ternary.
