Book a Self Catering Holiday

All-inclusive holidays are everywhere these days, and if you're looking for a holiday, the chances are that you may find yourself inundated with offers for all-inclusive breaks to destinations around the world. While this may sound like a good idea, and the deals available always seem like good value for money, booking an all-inclusive holiday isn't always the best way to explore a new country, because you'll be more likely to stay in your hotel or resort for the duration of your holiday. So if you're looking for something different to do on holiday this year, here are a few more reasons why self-catering is sometimes better than all-inclusive.

Self-Catering Holidays Let You to Eat Better

With all-inclusive holidays, there can be a great temptation to not leave the resort or hotel that you're staying in, which is understandable as a number of activities and home comforts are readily available to all guests. But what an all-inclusive holiday can't do is allow you to sample the authentic food of your holiday destination, as they will more than likely cater for the tastes of their foreign clientele, and create dishes that aren't too spicy, tasteful or memorable, meaning that you could go to Spain without ever tasting paella, or travel to Mexico without discovering the taste of quesadillas. If you want a true taste of the cuisine of your chosen holiday country, then a self-catering holiday is the best way to do it.

Self-Catering Holidays Let You Explore

As previously mentioned, many people find it impossible to leave their hotels due to the comforts of the resort, but if you can get out of your resort for a day, just do it, because that way you can get to see more of the country you are visiting. Many holiday companies arrange tours to local sites and landmarks, such as churches, memorial sites and other places of interest, while some package holidays offer these, there's nothing quite as satisfying as going out on your own and organising your own ternary.

It's up to you if you want to go on self-catering or all-inclusive holidays, but just because you've found a good deal on your accommodation and meals, it doesn't mean that you'll be able to get a good idea of the country you're visiting.
