subject: What Employment should I do? [print this page] What Employment should I do? What Employment should I do?
Last Month Google reported that 33100 English speakers in the USA searched that same title
Note that the search was not, I need a Job, so I am going to assume that these people already have a job but are not happy where they are.
Nearly 4 million last month stated online that they hated' their work.
I really have trouble understanding why people do something they hate to do, I have been told by close friends that they are so happy when they wake up on Friday mornings because, in their minds it's the weekend where they can can do anything, but go to work'.
Personal Development is a term that not a lot of people understand and I will now attempt to explain a few points
Now I'm going to tell you something.
I have never ever had a job that I hated.(once or twice but I never went back the next day).
Simple as that.. I have always woken up early and went to work with total energy and ready to go..
I found this on a Marketing Training site and thought this was a good story
John Wooden (1911 - 2010) If you are unaware who John Wooden is (or was - he passed in 2010) - John Wooden is generally considered the greatest basketball coach that ever lived.
John Wooden passed away in June 2010 - at the incredible age of 99.
Considered by many to be a leading thought pioneer - what many did not know - is that Mr Wooden had in his wallet - a piece of paper that his father gave to him - when John was just 12 years old.
For 87 years - John would look at this creed - and try to live his life by it. I thought you may like to know what was on that paper.
Be true to yourself
Make each day your masterpiece
Help others Drink deeply from good books
Make friendships a fine art
Build shelter against a rainy day
Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day
I found this creed beautiful -- so I wanted to share it here with you...
So what is it I'm trying to say here..
I have always enjoyed every day of my life, some of course were not as good as others but I have no regrets.
I will share this with you now..
In 1987 I nearly went bankrupt, I say nearly, because unlike a lot of others who declared bankruptcy, I did not, and ended up with a house and huge huge mortgage.
Because I did not declare bankruptcy, I was able to go straight back into business and remake the money I had lost, and not only that, I was able to triple it in ten years, because of a Personal Development strategy that I put in place.
I invested a little money into a relatively unknown Personal Development Education course.
The rest is history, I now am retired but still go to work and love it'.
Retirement I think should be putting yourself into a position of CHOICE, and as the whole world knows.. no money no choice.
So when I get up in the morning after a stretch and a scratch, I decide whether I catch the bus at 7.30(do some work) or go fishing, or have a game of golf.
As my work is so enjoyable anyway it does not worry me what the decision is
Its all about choice and making money.. not working for a living.
Its all about Personal Development,
Its all about, ---if the mind believes it its true---.
Its all about making a decision and being passionate about it and totally committed to it
I can go on and on.
If you want to make a difference in your lifeyou can.
I did not say anything about making work easier, if anything you will probably do twice as much work than you did previously, but the difference is you will enjoy what you are doing, and as a result the work will be more effective and all of a sudden enthusiasm rockets and its infectious .. people around you will listen and you have people wanting your product or your ideas or wanting to deal with you in some way or form.
So think about it and if you want to make a change in your life I suggest you are doing the right thing.
