A few weeks ago, I participated in a discussion with different people and groups from around the world, seeking to make the world a better place. I was asked what moves me to want to mentor and motivate others. It has been pointed, by groups and individuals that most people that you attempt to help will reject you. Others will try to use you for their gain and even those you do help, a number of them will go back to what they were used to because people are creatures of habit. Good or bad.
We find issues in each other sometimes just because of the color of our skin, our education, gender, age and so on. There is always a standard to be measured up to.Society can be its on worst enemy. If you are kind, courteous and respectful of people, you can be called soft hearted, out of touch, a chump and thought of as someone that can be easily used. The people who make the rules would have it no other way. They understand that if they can keep negativity flowing, then you will never see the light. Sadly, that statement is very true. Misconceptions about what life is, keeps people at odds with each other and as long as there is turmoil, those misconceptions, hold steady.
But there is hope. When we think of the negative, understand the opposite is positive. So for all of the darkness we are engulfed in, there is a light that will shine through it. You cannot keep the light out, it will always find its way in. The more you let the light in, the brighter it will shine. When we find the good, we defeat the bad. Sounds corny, but this is very true. When you find good in someone or something, you no longer see the bad. We learn good was always there, we just didn't see it. The light made it clear.
So I mentor, I motivate and seek to empower anyone seeking a better way of life. For me, it allows my light to shine and diffuses the darkness from theirs. I understand that in order for my light to shine, it's important that I share to everyone the goodness of self. When we seek to understand others we will start to see the light and good in them and we must share it. When we share with each other, we share for a better world. A world that would never shine, if it wasn't for the light.
