After a tough breakup, probably the first thing most people think isgetting back together. So when that opportunity comes strolling back around, your former boyfriend or girlfriend asks to get back together, you're likely ecstatic, right? This is just what you wanted! But you really need to sit down and think about whether or not this is truly the best decision for you. If you act rashly, your short term happiness might crash and burn once again, and trust me, the second time is going to feel much worse than the first.
Most of the time, this scenario happens when you are the one being dumped, not the other way around. If so, you've gotta examine exactly why she or he left you in the first place. Did you not earn enough money for her? Was he just a player that was out for a fling and left you when he was bored? Did you stop doing something that she liked and she got tired of "putting up" with you? If you pinpoint why the relationship ended, you can usually use that to figure out why he or she suddenly wants toget back together with you.
Are you a second rate person? Your answer should be a resounding "NO!" So if your girlfriend comes back to you because the guy she left you for is too stingy for her taste, or if your boyfriend knocks on your door again to treat you like a plan B, is it worth your time to take them back? At this point, they are treating you like a fallback plan. You're not their best choice anymore. If you think about it, what's going to happen if something shiny walks past again, so to speak? They left you before and they will likely leave you again for the same reason.
Don't allow yourself to be a plan B to anybody! If it's clear that they're just looking for something to do in between other affairs, don'ttake your ex back.
However, if your ex seems genuine, it may be worth considering. You and your ex shared something close and special once. It's not out of the realm of possiblity that you can experience that again. Consider if you would have a problem just being friends with him or her. Do you get along? Can you trust her or rely on his opinion? If these answers are yes, perhaps you shouldget back together.
Don't take yourex back just because it's convenient. Make sure this is something that is going to make you happy in the weeks, months, and years to come.
