How to Develop Good Facial Skin Care Routine

Developing healthy skin is an art that is cultivated via a good daily facial skin care routine. The job of skin in a human's body is to clean, heal & re-grow itself. How well it is able to do this depends on how good you take care of your skin. A good skin care routine should not exceed 20 minutes in a day and can be done early morning & before sleeping (twice a day). There are 6 steps to developing a good facial skin care routine, they are: Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing, Exfoliating, Masking & Facials.

i) Cleansing

Cleansing of your skin should be done daily as it helps in renewing & developing skin cells, remove skin pores & dirt from your skin. Cleansing should be done with water-soluble creams or solutions that can be wiped off. A good milky makeup dissolver should be massaged over your dry face with fingers usually does the job. For oily skins, a Clinique a Wash-away gel cleanser should be used. Put a small amount of the cream on your hands and lather your face. Avoid the eye area & rinse off when complete. This should be done on a wet face.

ii) Toning

Facial toning improves the skin's texture when applied to oily skin after cleaning (see i). The job of toning is to take your skin to its original level. Facial toners complete the cleansing process by removing traces of cleansers or oil that could be left behind. After the toner evaporates, the skin starts glowing & shines to make your face look shining & beautiful. Toners also help to tighten pores. You should use toners that have high alcohol for oily skins & avoid alcohol containing toners for dry skins as your skin will really burn when applying the toners.

iii) Moisturizing

Moisturizing is a process meant for very dry skin as your skin needs moisture to stay smooth & glowing. A moisturizer is usually a cream such as the Clinique Bonus Time's Superdefense Age Defense Moisturizer SPF 25 that helps your skin glow & fight aging & wrinkles. A good moisturizer helps your skin grow cells & remain moisturized against irritable factors such as sun, stress, pollution or acne. Moisturizing lotions are also available to help your skin remain smooth, hydrated & texturized. Moisturizing lotions are used whenever your skin feels really dry & itchy.

iv) Exfoliating

Exfoliating is skin treatment where dead skin cells are removed & replaced by healthy new cells that make your skin texturized, glowing & healthy. An average human develops new skin every 2-4 weeks, so you can make your skin moisturized & healthy by replacing the uppermost dead cells with new finer tissues underneath.

v) Masking

Masking is the process where a beauty mask is applied to your face if your skin is too dry or oily. These masks can be purchased at many drug stores or chemical shops. Face beauty masks remove dead skin cells from your face & help to replace them with new glowing cells that make your skin look moisturized, beautiful & glowing. Masking can remove flakiness, dry patches & fine lines from your face.

vi) Facials

Facials are usually done at Saloons but can also be done from home. Facial is when a healthy skin cream is massaged over your dry skin to make it glow & replace dead cells with new healthy cells. Facials help to hydrate & soften the skin.
