One of the fun things that I do in my Memory Magic program is to show people how to use word association to memorize things. ie: to remember that somebody's name is Bob, picture him bobbing up and down, or if a ladies name is Sue, visualize her as a lawsuit happy lawyer running around slapping frivolous suits on folks. This is nothing new, but I have a knack for it and love to talk about this skill with people. One thing I came up with not long ago is to create a list of 10 (or more if you like) things that you are grateful for. These don't have to be really significant things like winning the Nobel Peace Prize... My list has things like, "having been brought up by outstanding parents", "being able to SCUBA dive" and "my 3 year old niece". You get the idea, anyway, anything that you can think of really. Next, make a list of 10 things that you see on a consistent basis. A park bench, a taxi cab or somebody out walking a dog. Now both on paper and in your mind, pair each item that you are thankful for with one of these objects and make a focused effort for the next day or so to seriously focus on the "thing that you are thankful for" when you see each of the matching items. Before long it will become habit and you subconsciously be reminded of these "thankful" things continually. You could make lists of "things that remind you that you are successful", "things that make you interesting to the opposite sex" (assuming that your single that is) etc. and soon you can exude confidence and joy so much more as you travel around town seeing all the signs that remind you of how great your life is. Bonus Material from my blog: http://denvermotivationalspeaker.wordpress.com/ For a while now I've been speaking on "Memory Magic" and how to retain things you want to remember. Today I spoke to the Arvada, CO Kiwanis Club at the Arvada Center. A great group of about 60 people, which is perfect as I had about 20 minutes to meet and greet before my program began and I wanted to show off a little as usual by calling out everyone individually by first name at the beginning of my program. This always gives a great first impression and gets things underway nicely. In any event, my Memory Magic program is really taking shape nicely and I had a flood of people waiting for me after I spoke to leave me their business card and or sign up on my email list so I am really starting to feel the momentum of the improvements I have made since starting this program. I am really looking forward to getting this all made into a downloadable course that people can buy so stay tuned for more info. on that.
