I have attended a few churches during my life time. I heard the word of God preached at all of them, so why did I leave? A few times I just quit. If we are not willing to hear and do the word, it becomes of non affect in our lives. We say what's the point; I don't see any changes so why bother. Accepting Christ in your life is about change, repentance, faith, letting go of the old and receiving the new life he has for us. When we are in the world sometimes we can't see any light, but its there, its in Jesus if we just continue to seek him, Jesus is LIFE J Other times I left to follow others. I left because someone else had an issue with the pastor or people in the church. They had issues with circumstances or something was said they didn't like. But not because they were not hearing from God. Of course I know now we must not follow anyone unless directed by the lord. Don't move unless God tells you to move. If you are unsure then stay put. We also leave sometimes because the word is directed toward us, we feel like its telling us to do something different, to make changes in our lives. Guess what? It is. The word is about living through Jesus, making changes in our lives to become more like him, and not like the world. Sometimes it takes awhile, but don't give up. The word is about overcoming in diverse situations. We have power to over come through Jesus. The word is about not letting the giants in our lives win. And still many others leave because life is tossing them about like a basketball. It seems so hard that they just quit. We give up. If my problems are this bad, where is Jesus at? We don't realize it but he's in the midst of all of our storms. We doubt the true power of God, we doubt that he cares; we doubt that he can fix any of our problems. We get impatient. And that is what the enemy wants us to do, to doubt, to fear, to worry, panic. He wants us to quit seeking our helper, Jesus.
Isaiah 41:10 (King James Version)
10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Can you imagine being held by the right hand of Gods righteousness? Wow. We are living defeated lives, in doubt, worry, and fear. But if we would only believe in his word. He has given us all the tools from his living word to survive in this world. He does require us to believe in him, trust him, have faith in him. Are you tired of being tossed around like a basketball? I am.. J Take a step toward Jesus; he has all the answers to ALL of your problems. Seek him daily. Believe and trust in his living word. It is here to save us, to guide us, to teach us, to HELP us.
